About Bullet for My Valentine

Bullet for My Valentine is comprised of band members Matt Tuck, Michael Paget, Jason James and Michael Thomas. At one time, Nick Crandle was also a member of the ensemble.

Starting in 1998, the band was originally called Jeff Killed John and was formed while some of the members were in college. The group first tried to capitalize on the nu metal music trends that were happening at the time, but later changed their sound to better reflect their own interest. This shift was ushered in partially with the name change to Bullet for My Valentine.

Starting in 2002, the band began to look for label representation. Roadrunner Records was one of the first labels interested in the act, but they were turned down in favor of Song BMG. In 2004, the band released a self-titled album under the label and soon followed it with an EP in 2005.

In 2005, the band's popularity began to rise with the release of The Posion. The album featured popular singles such as 4 Words (To Choke Upon), Suffocating Under Words of Sorrow (What Can I Do) and Tears Don't Fall. The band began to play larger festivals such as the Download Festival and were openers on a tour with Rob Zombie.

The band's second album Scream Aim Fire was released in 2008 in both the UK and in the US. From that point on, the band became larger on both sides of the Atlantic. As of early 2009, the band is presently working on another studio album.
