Taking Guitar Lessons
Guitar lessons can help you learn to play your instrument from scratch or even help you improve your technique if you already now how to play.
Personal Instructions
There's more than one way to learn. One-on-one lessons with an instructor can be invaluable. You have the chance to watch your instructor first hand, and you can ask questions as you go. Your instructor will easily notice less than ideal fingering and most likely help you nip bad habits before they become ingrained. This type of immediate feedback can also help you learn quicker.
Online Guitar Lessons
When personal instruction doesn't fit your lifestyle, online lessons can fill the gap. There are dozens of websites offering everything from beginner lessons through advanced. You can even find lessons to help you learn specific styles of guitar playing, like those used for jazz and classical. If you search long enough, you're bound to find what you're looking for.
How-To Books
If you don't have full-time access to a computer, there's still another way to go. Your local book store is bound to carry some great books on guitar lessons. Although this may be a bit more difficult approach to learning your instrument, it has worked for many guitar enthusiasts, and some manuals even come with instructional DVDs to augment the lessons.
All of this just goes to prove where there's a will there's a way. If you're determined to learn how to play guitar, don't let anything stop you.
