Dave Grohl: From Nirvana to the Foo Fighters

Kurt Cobain's suicide put an abrupt end to Nirvana, a band that almost single-handedly sounded the death knell of the arena rock era. During his stint as Nirvana's drummer, Dave Grohl continued to write his own music on the side. Intimidated by Cobain's song writing talent, Grohl never felt confident enough to share his own songs with the band. However, once Nirvana disbanded, Grohl went to work on a solo project and recorded his original songs playing every instrument and performing all the vocals himself. This tour de force was very well received in the music community, and soon Grohl found himself putting together a band to tour with.

So far the Foo Fighters have received a Grammy nomination for every CD they've produced and have actually won three times. Is it any wonder then that Foo Fighters tabs are in such demand by guitarists who appreciate the band's alternative rock style?
