Fun Easy Guitar Tabs
From LoveToKnow Guitar
If you’re trying to become a better player, reduce the pressure by following some fun, easy guitar tabs.
Why Use Guitar Tablature?
Learning guitar tablature is an important aspect of your musical knowledge. Tabs simplify guitar practice by providing a diagram of the strings and frets. However, tablature is not the same as a specific chord diagram. By understanding where to place your fingers on the fretboard, you’ll expand your comprehension of notes and how chords are developed.
Once you build this experience, you’ll gain confidence building upon individual notes and scales, reading sheet music, and you'll eventually feel more comfortable improvising.
Many musicians rely on guitar tabs to learn the basic structure of songs they may play live, or simply play for the heck of it. After all, it’s not a party unless someone can whip out the Eagles’ Take It Easy or Green Day’s Good Riddance at the slightest suggestion! That’s why fun, easy guitar tabs are so great for your practice; you’ll build your experience as a player as well as your musical repertoire.
How Do Tabs Work?
Basically, the diagram of tabs includes notes, lines and numbers.
- The lines are arranged in the same order as strings on a guitar, and the corresponding notes change based on how the guitar is tuned.
- Each tab will tell you how to tune the guitar.
- The numbers on the lines represent notes, and indicate where your hand positioning should be on the fretboard.
Why not just learn the notes from the start? Well, you are – sort of. Tablation is one step below reading guitar sheet music. For many beginners, learning hand placement is difficult enough – how to position the fingers, how much pressure to place on the strings, developing a hand spread that encompasses the entire chord – without the difficulty of memorizing notes, too. However, playing from tabs provides a foundation for learning all these things by encouraging familiarity with the notes and the instrument. It isn’t so much the music you’re learning as it is the mechanics of the music.
