About Reel Big Fish
To date, Reel Big Fish has been with three labels: Mojo Records, Jive Records and Rock Ridge Music. Each label has brought new members to the band and new influences to their sound. Throughout the years, there have been upwards of twelve former band members such as Ben Guzman, Grant Barry, Carlos de Garza and Matt Wong. Presently, Reel Big Fish consists of Aaron Barrett (the only original member still in the band), Scott Klopfenstein, Derek Gibbs, Dan Regan, Ryland Steen and John Christianson.
The band's first album was Everything Sucks in 1993. The album featured songs such as I'll Never Be, Boyfriend, I Want Your Girlfriend to Be My Girlfriend and Why Do All Girls Think They're Fat? The band soon after released Turn The Radio Off. The album allowed the band to pick up fans nationwide as they began to tour on a larger scale. The album featured popular songs Sell Out (arguably the band's largest hit), She Has A Girlfriend Now, and All I Want Is More. Many of the songs on the album actually stem from Everything Sucks rewrites. The band's following album, Why Do They Rock So Hard? was released on Mojo records in 1998 and included songs such as Somebody Hates Me, Thank You For Not Moshing and I'm Cool. The album also featured contributions from Coolie Ranx of the popular band The Toasters.
In 2002, the band worked with Jive records to release Cheer Up! The album featured Good Thing, Somebody Loved Me, Where Have You Been and A Little Doubt Goes a Long Way. The album fared well on the charts, and an Anaheim, California concert promoting the album led to a live DVD in The Show Must Go Off! series. The band's next album, We're Not Happy 'Til You're Not Happy is one of Reel Big Fish's most popular albums. The album was later followed by Monkeys for Nothin' and the Chimps for Free and 2009's Fame, Fortune and Fornication. Popular tracks on the band's later albums include Story of My Life, We Hate It When Our Friends Become Successful and My Imaginary Friend. Fame, Fortune and Fornication is a cover album of popular songs by other artists.
